Even though the whole thing was a misunderstanding, and Rago thought that he was doing the right thing by standing up for someone else, he let his anger control his reaction instead of calmly thinking about his response to the situation should have been. Rago’s mistake cost him 80 hours of community service and a fine of $315. It is also doubtful that he will be getting any autographs from Hester any time soon.

The custody battle over this seven year old boy, as with many custody battles was very stressful and ugly at times. I wish this man would have reached out for help before it came to this. In anger management classes or even individual anger management therapy this man’s frustrations could have been expressed, he would have been taught valuable tools to manage his feelings, look at the situation from different perspectives, and use valuable tools to choose actions with better consequences, not just for himself but also for his son. Now this child has no mother or father in his life.

In anger management class we come across many participants who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships or going through a difficult divorce or break up. These types of life challenges are difficult for anyone. It is important to reach out for support from family, friends and/ or professionals so that you can get the positive feedback and tools you need to manage your stress and make the right choices for yourself and those that you love. Anger is a normal human emotion but what you do with it can have damaging long effects.

A woman in Elyria, Ohio was sentenced last Thursday to 15 days in jail and ordered to complete an anger management course by the end of the year for choking a Wal-Mart employee in March. Toni Duncan pled no contest to assault charges for pushing her shopping cart into and choking a 71-year-old Wal-Mart greeter when he asked to see her receipt. Her daughter Ashley Jackson was also sentenced to three days in jail for threatening a clerk at the customer service desk and shouting that she was going to “blow up Wal-Mart” as they left. All of this happened in the presence of Jackson’s two small children. Both of the women have also been banned from Wal-Mart property on top of their jail sentences. Since the attack, the Wal-Mart greeter has returned to work. The uncontrolled anger of these two women cost them jail time, as well as any of the future discounts that you can usually get at Wal-Mart.

In the final match of the latest Women’s US open tournament against opponent Samantha Stosur, Serena Williams lost her temper when the umpire made a call that she didn’t like. After serving the ball Serena yelled “C’mon” before her opponent had a chance to get to the ball. The umpire cited Williams for committing “intentional hindrance”, meaning that she purposely tried to distract her opponent to keep her from successfully returning the ball. The call came when Williams and Stosur were at a break point in the match and put Stosur ahead of Williams. Williams went on a verbal rant that was directed at umpire Eva Asderaki, calling her names like “hater” and “unattractive on the inside”. Williams is already on probation for a previous outburst in 2009 at another tournament but was only fined $2000 for her outburst. This latest incident was not enough to ban her from participating in future tournaments, but her anger cost her $2000 and possibly the respect of fans and other players for her un-sportsman like conduct. Williams has stated that she didn’t even remember what she had said to umpire Asderaki, which is evidence that when you are angry, you really can’t think correctly. Instead of thinking about what was going on and responding in an appropriate manner, Williams just reacted to the situation and it ended up only costing her more in the long run.

80′s most lovable nerd Anthony Michael Hall was arrested by the LAPD Tuesday afternoon for disturbing the peace. The star of The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles allegedly went destruct-o by pulling plants by the root in his Los Angeles Condomindium. He is also allegedly threatened to beat his neighbor to a pulp. It’s not known why the former “Brat Pack” star lost his cool but he may be a prime candidate for anger management classes. The actor was also named in a 2009 restraining order when he was accused of shoving his girlfriend.

Matthew Fox the lead actor of the hit show “Lost” is being accused of punching a women in the breasts and crotch in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday evening. The accuser Heather Bormann states she was driving a private “Party Bus” Saturday night when Mr. Fox tried to board without permission. Ms. Bormann states Matthew Fox punched her at which time she slap him in the face causing his lips to bleed. The accuser believes Mr. Fox was drunk at the time.

The over consumption of alcohol is a primary precurser to verbal and physical assualts as well as anger management issues. According to reports Matthew Fox was detained and released. No charges have been filed.

It appears that Javaris Crittenton’s lack of anger management and his fascination with guns have lead to deadly circumstances. Mr. Crittenton is said to have been the possible trigger man in a drive by shooting. The shooting may have been in retaliation for a robbery in which he was the victim of in Arpil. Unfortanatley Javaris Crittenton’s shooting target skills are less impressive than his basketball skills as he allegedlly missed the attended victim and shot an innocent bystander. Our prayers go out to the family of the victim.

Many of us beleive we are far from capable of committing the act of murder but when our emotions are out of control we are capable of anything.

It is rumored that Charlie Sheen, yes Mr. Crazy pants himself is in talks to star in a new sitcom based on the movie “Anger Management”. The original movie stared Adam Sandler as a passive aggressive copy writer and Jack Nicholson as a unorthodoxed therapist.

Charlie Sheen’s version is said to be a retired professional athlete who becomes a anger management therapist during the off season. Maybe his character was forced to find work during the NBA or NFL lockout. Either way it appears Charlies character has a few anger issues of his own. A professional athlete with anger issues? Who would have thought?
