Follow the money

July 21, 2006

I’ve spent the majority of my career in the social work and criminal justice fields. In that line of work my clients consisted of the underprivileged and underpaid.

For years I did a great deal of my “social work” off the clock. I transported children to new foster homes, bought them lunch with my own money, picked up parents for visitation, lugged home case files and counseled for hours over the phone on the weekend and holidays without pay.

As a business owner I’m finding that to stay afloat I have to follow the money.

It is unfortanate that those who need help the most can not afford it. Nevertheless, I’ve decided to expand my business and open a site in the Orange County area.

Today I went to spy out the land and it is truly flowing with milk in honey.

Below are a few pics I took in the city of New Port Beach where the median income for a family is $111,166.
