Anger Management Expert Helps the Kardashians keep their cool

Kim Kardashian and Khole Kardashian have had their share of publicized mishaps and subsequent interventions but when physical aggression threatened to put a riff between Kardashian family members they turned to expert anger management specialist Shannon Munford.

Anger is progressive

If you have been watching Keeping up with the Kardashians on the E Network you know that the tension between Scott Disck, (Kourtney Kardashian’s boyfriend) and the Kardashian family has been building. Things erupted last week as Khole Karsdashian slapped Scott in the face.

Stress and Anger

It is obvious Khole has been under a little stress. A whirlwind romance with Lakers forward Lamar Odom culminated in a nationally- viewed televised wedding. She is now shopping for a multi-million dollar home on a mini-million dollar budget. She has to do all this while running a bi-costal clothing company (Dash) and posing for the paparazzi.

Anger and Alcohol

Everyone should have noticed Khole had a few drinks before her altercation with Scott. If you happen to be drunk during angry confrontation you may lack the ability to reason effectively. Such confrontations generally lead into acts of aggression.

Anger is not the problem

Anger is not the problem. It is what we do when we are angry that can have grave consequences. This something Kim and Khole learned while sitting in on an anger management class at Daybreak Counseling Service. We all have a right to be angry, but physical violence should be avoided at all costs.

Shannon Munford is the owner of Daybreak Counseling Service, an anger management education center in Los Angeles, California. His expertise has been invaluable to nationally televised shows such as MTV Real World Hollywood, Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club 3 and My Network TV’s Decision House. Shannon currently has a new series in the works with the production company Screen Door Entertainment.

Serena Williams fined for angry tirade

Serena Williams fined

Serena Williams was recently fined for an angry tirade at the U.S Open. She is required to pay $82,500 for berating a tennis official on national television. She was also placed on probation for the next two years. If she looses her temper on the court again she may required to pay $175,000.

On some occassions the consequences of an anger management meltdown is enough to get people to rethink their attittude and their actions. That is if the consequences are serious enough. In Serena’s case a $82,000 fine is comparable to a $200 carpool lane ticket for us regular folk. In addition to her tennis $14 million prize match winnings. She also has major endorsements with Hewlett Packer, Tampax and Nike.

Serena would possibly benefit from taking part in an anger management course to help her understand the origins of her aggression.

Anger outburst could land Serena Williams “in court” rather than on the court

Professional Tennis can be a challenging sport. Rain delays, nagging injuries and bad calls by the line judge can bring out the worst in the best competitors. John Mcenroe one of the premiere tennis players of all time is known more by his on the court tirades than his stellar play.

The tennis world had come to expect such behavior from John but not from one of the darlings of tennis.

Serena Williams not only lost an U.S. open tennis match but she may have lost the respect of fans world wide.

After a 32 hour delay the match between Kim Clijsters and Serena Willimas was halted after the line judge called Serena for a foot fault.

Rather than making an official protest to the WTA (Womens Tennis Association) Serena sent a volley of expletives:

“I swear to God I’m fucking taking this ball and shoving it down your fucking throat…” and then after a bunch of other yelling she closed it off with a… “motherfucker.”

I’m pretty sure that’s not the best way to get your point across. In fact it is a good way to get charged with a criminal or terroist threat.

Serena’s actions were not only rude but criminal. A terroist threat is a verbal or written statement that suggests an act of bodily harm agaisnt another.

If the WTA line judge considers pressing charges, Serena Willimas could face jail time, probation or at a minimum a court ordered anger management course.

Blount force trauma-Oregon State football player needs anger management

Friday, September 4th, 2009
Loading

LeGarrette Blount is the starting running back for the Oregon State football team. Instead of hitting the holes to a win over Boise State during their season opener, Blount hits Byron Hout a Boise state player hard on the chin.

After the 19-8 loss by Oregon State, LeGarrette Blount is seen punching Hout after Hout appers to taunt him.

Reports state Blount has had problems in the past managing his anger and was forced off the practice filed by his coach earlier this year.

Football is a rough sport and emotions can get out of control but violence agaisnt another is never acceptable in life or on the field.

If the Oregon State coaches have any real concern for Blount as a person they will suspend him for the rest of the season. A slap on the wrist will only serve as a message that violence agaisnt another is permissable as long as he can carry an average of 75-100 yards a game.

If Oregon State is more concerned about wins and losses they may keep Blount on the team but after a loss to Boise I’m not sure that would help anyway.
