Thanksgiving and anger management- Count your blessings
The pilgrims had it right. After a year of fighting pestilence and disease, a harsh winter, and the sorrow of loss and death they took time to give thanks.
It is easy to let your anger build when in the midst of tragedy. A painful divorce or a sudden lay off can cause those who are the meekest to loose their temper.
But if we took the time to stop and count our blessings we would find that we are not as bad off as we think we are. Look around. Is there a roof over your head? Did you have breakfast, lunch and dinner today? If you said yes, you are far more blessed than millions around the world.
Making a gratitude list is the perfect anger management technique. When you are able to recognize and verbalize the good inspite of the bad it gives you a better perspective.
Don’t let this season of Thanksgiving pass without appreciating what you have. You will find yourself a little less angry.
