vic the brick

I have not posted anything too personal in about a year…but recently the “suits” at AM 570 Sport Radio here in Los Angeles have made a decision that almost made an anger management teacher loose it.

My favorite sports radio program was canned with out warning. I went to lunch last week, parked under a shady tree, tilted my seats back and turned on the radio.

What did I find? No Vic the Brick, no Mychal Thompson…just a shallow version of the Loose Cannons, the best sports radio in the land. Last year I even spent $10,000 to adverstise on 570. No more. I invite all advertiser to pull out. The new show is the pits.

I have attached a link to a petition someone started.

wal mart greeter

A Chattanooga detective accused of assaulting an elderly Wal-Mart greeter who asked to see his sales receipt at the store has been suspended from duty.

Police Chief Freeman Cooper told the Chattanooga Times Free Press that following a disciplinary hearing the officer was suspended 28 days without pay for conduct unbecoming an officer, improper procedure and excessive use of force.

The chief said the officer must also be retrained in the department’s use of force policy and take an anger management course.

The detective was accused of pushing the 71-year-old Wal-Mart greeter who touched the off-duty officer’s arm while asking if he could see a receipt in December. A report shows the greeter fell and received a scratch on his right elbow.

good job

Hi Shannon

I wanted to thank Susan Levy for her insight in the Anger Management Classes.

Coming from an AA background she was able to read me like a book. Her knowledge of the tools needed to help me were perfect. I thank you for her instruction and would recommend her to those who have issues with anger.

She went the extra mile for me.

Regards,

Lynford Wiley

Anger Management -Anger Antidotes

I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him-Booker T. Washington

Throughout this blog I have described anger a violent infection. Maybe this infection was passed on to you through a genetic trait from your parents. Most likely you were infected by some trauma or painful experience in your life.

Regardless of how you came to be angry, there is an antidote. There is a prescribed course of action you must take to rid yourself of rage, aggression and lingering resentment.

Medications and prescription come with detailed instructions. You must follow the instructions to the letter if you intend on being healed.

Some prescriptions require you to ingest the medication every day while others insist that you apply your medicine as a topical solution only.

You must use your medication consistently and appropriately if you wish to receive the benefits. This same principle applies to anger antidotes. If you are inconsistent don’t expect a reduction in your anger. If you are steadfast and vigilant you will be surprised on how quickly change will occur.

PRESCRIPTION NUMBER 1 – KILL IT WITH KINDNESS

You can kill chronic anger with a simple daily dose of kindness.

Kindness is the quality of being warm-hearted, considerate, humane and sympathetic. Being kind prevents you from participating in self- absorption. Anger is an emotion that prevents empathy and causes an individual to be consumed only with him or herself.

“Validation” is a fable about the magic of free parking.
