Anger Management Techniques-How to reduce your anger

The brain is probably the most adaptive organ in the human body. It functions to regulate your physiology and well as your emotional state. The brains structure is forever changing in an effort to give you want you need. If you have expereinced the powerful stimuli of angry emotions for any period of time your brain probably craves it. In other words you need it in order to stay level. Your brain has created specific pathways in which to feed upon anger. In order manage your anger you must find a way to interupt the signal or block your anger pathways. If are successful over a sustained period of time. these anger pathways will die.

An anger Management class can teach you how to reduce your anger by blocking specific anger pathways.

Deep Breathing
Taking slow deep breaths in the midst of an anger breakout is one way to reduce your anger. It allows you to regain focus and relieves symptoms of tension.

Counting Backwards
Counting Backwards is a way to lower your arousal level. By counting backwards you can prevent emotional signals from entering the brains anger pathways.

Pleasant Imagery
Imagine yourself in a pleasant place; the beach a quiet forest. You can take yourself back to a wonderful memory, talking to an old friend a glorious vaction. By particpating in pleasant imagery you are activating areas of the brain that produce pleasure and peace.
