Anger Management Instructors
Diana Gutierrez, MS has been working as an anger management instructor at Daybreak Counseling Service for two years in the Pasadena location. She teaches group classes two days a week and also provides private coaching sessions for individuals and couples upon request. She obtained her masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Cal State Northridge in 2007 and currently works as a mental health therapist in the San Fernando Valley treating children, adults, couples and families. Diana also teaches introductory psychology courses for the University of Phoenix. Diana truly has a passion for teaching and helps debunk myths about anger management classes by creating a warm and inviting environment where students feel comfortable discussing difficult topics. By sharing expertise and experience, Diana creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere where students walk out of class feeling understood, motivated and armed with a new skill each week.
Jackie Jarrard-Turner is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a M.A. degree in Psychology and a B.A. in Comparative Literature, both from Chapman University. Jackie was employed with Riverside Unified School District, conducting individual and group counseling with children and currently works in private practice in Orange, specializing in parenting, child and couple issues. Jackie is passionate about educating people on mental health topics, including parenting, communication and anger management. She currently teaches in our Orange, Califronia location.
Lynn Hostein MA has worked an an anger management instructor for five years with Daybreak Counseling Service. She is a former news writer for KTLA News in Los Angeles. She earned a Masters Degree in Psychology in 2004 from Trinity College in Anaheim, California. She currently works as a rover for Daybreak Counseling Service, teaching anger management classes in every one of our four locations when called upon. Our clients comment on her peaceful and calm demeanor, categorizing her voice as hypnotic.
Robin Aulgur MA, MFTI is an experienced professional with a wide variety of talents. She has worked with people of all backgrounds and ethnic groups. She has seen children, adolescents, and adults in private practice sessions. She also has many years of facilitating groups and classes including Anger Management, Parenting, Drug and Alcohol Prevention, Anxiety Management, Gang Prevention and other classes through out her carrier. Robin is currently the facilitator at the Gardena office but is available to teach at Daybreak Counseling Services other locations. Robin aims to make each class a unique experience, tailoring it to the needs of the group. Robin received her Masters of Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.
Susan Levy is a Masters Level clinician who has been a member of our Daybreak staff in Santa Monica for over 2 years. She has always been enthusiastic and passionate about helping others. After a 16-year career as an Addictions Counselor in New Jersey, she decided to leave the East Coast and move to southern California in 2002 to be near her 3 grown sons and to resume the work she loves. After 2 years as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Promises Treatment Center, Susan became intrigued with the concept of “Anger Management”. (Anger is a huge element of addiction.) She obtained her “certification” and has happily been working at Daybreak Services ever since. Her past work in substance abuse and as a family therapist has provided her with invaluable experience. “I love teaching my classes and have the privilege to witness the positive changes made by clients.
